Delhi University has issued a notice to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. It states that they will not come to the university campus without permission in future.

University registrar Vikas Gupta said that in the notice, the university will tell Rahul that coming to the university like this puts the safety of the students at risk. Proper protocol needs to be followed for any interaction with the students. It is known that Rahul had reached the Post Graduate Men’s Hostel of Delhi University North Campus on Friday afternoon and interacted with the students there.

Rahul talked to the students about their problems and their career plans. He also had lunch with the students in the hostel.

The registrar said that Rahul had visited without permission. When he came to the campus, many students were having lunch. We cannot tolerate this on our campus. We will send a notice to Rahul Gandhi saying that he should not repeat such an act and should not put the safety of the students at risk. Meanwhile, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress, has alleged that there was pressure on the administration to act against Rahul Gandhi.

A day after Rahul’s visit, Delhi University issued a scathing statement. It said the sudden and unauthorized visit has raised serious security concerns for the hostel students and the Congress leader. The University authorities will take necessary steps to avoid such incidents and ensure that it does not happen in future.
