Demand For Deep Borewells On Rise | Ranchi News – Times of India

Ranchi: With the summer heat intensifying, there has been a remarkable surge in the demand for deep boring services in the city.
Surendra Verma, owner of Kaveri Boring, said, “With temperatures rising and water scarcity becoming a concern in many regions, individuals and communities are seeking solutions to secure their water supply. Therefore, the demand for boring services has increased.”
Rohit Kumar Chaudhary, owner of Choudhary Borewell Services, said, “As temperatures continue to rise, the demand for boring services is expected to remain high. The request for borewell drilling has risen by 30% compared to that in winter.”
Basant Rawat, a resident of Kokar, said, “With traditional water sources such as rivers, lakes, and reservoirs experiencing low water levels, many individuals are turning to underground water sources. Water boring provides a reliable alternative by tapping into groundwater reserves. This allows us to secure a more stable and sustainable water supply.”
The Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) has mandated the registration of all borewell drilling vehicles. Around 150 vehicles are registered with the RMC for borewell operations in the region.
A surge has been observed in new plotting areas, including dry localities such as Vidya Nagar, Morabadi, Ratu, Kanke, Upper Bazaar, Chunna Bhatta, New Madhukum, Irgu Toli, Tuppudana, Bariatu Road, Bir Kunwar Singh Colony, and Hinoo.
Furthermore, it has been clarified that individuals undertaking 4.5-inch borewell installations are not required to seek permission from any authority. However, for 6-inch borewells, individuals must obtain prior permission from the RMC.
