New Delhi: Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has directed GoFirst to immediately stop booking and selling tickets “directly or indirectly” until further orders. The order was issued on Monday after the regulator issued a show cause notice to Go first for “failure to continue operating the service in a safe, efficient and reliable manner”. The regulator will take a call on the air operator’s certificate (AOC or license) of the airline from May 3 – after examining the reply to the notice to be submitted within a fortnight.
“Under the sudden cancellation of flights and initiation of the corporate insolvency resolution process Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) by go airlines (India) Limited (Go First), DGCA has issued a show cause notice to Go First under the relevant provisions of the Aircraft Rules, 1937 for their failure to continue to operate the service in a safe, efficient and reliable manner. a senior DGCA official said.

“The airline operator has been asked to submit its reply within 15 days of receipt of this notice, and further decision on continuation of their Air Operators Certificate (AOC) will be taken based on the reply submitted by them. Further, GoFirst has been directed to stop booking and selling of tickets directly or indirectly with immediate effect and until further orders.
