DM asked 9 schools to allow admission in RTE. Noida News – Times of India

NOIDA: Headmasters of nine private schools in Noida were called to the office of the District Magistrate on Wednesday and asked why they were not taking admission under the Right to Education (RTE).rte) act.
The DM has now asked the schools to admit students under RTE as per the first and second lottery rounds conducted by the Basic Shiksha Adhikari on March 12 and April 19.
Many parents had lodged complaints with the BSA office against the private schools for denying admission to their children even after the seats were allotted by the BSA office. The parents claimed that some schools were not demanding the documents mentioned in the RTE guidelines.
“If a school has doubts about the income documents of a student’s parents, they must contact the education department within a week. Without any authentic reason, schools cannot deny admission to any RTE candidate,” said BSA Aishwarya Lakshi.
Around 3,000 students were allotted seats under the RTE, out of which 2,000 have got admission so far. “Which means at least 1,000 students from the EWS category are yet to get admission,” BSA said.
Meanwhile, officials said the third round of the RTE application process, which began on April 20, will continue till May 12. The counting of votes will take place from May 13 to June 23 and the result of the third lottery round will be announced on July 5. ,
Under the RTE Act 2009, 25% seats in every private school are to be reserved for poor students who are not able to afford the education and tuition fees of private schools. Earlier this week, parents of several students in Ghaziabad The schools had gathered outside the BSA’s office alleging that they were not allowing admission under RTE. He alleges that some people asked for money for admission.
