Donations surge to Rs 83.8 crore; Kashi Vishwanath temple clocked highest revenue in March | Varanasi News – Times of India

VARANASI: As the Kashi Vishwanath Temple continues to attract devotees from far and wide who are making generous donations, the temple earned Rs 83.34 crore in 2023-24 financial year, registering a jump of 42.43% as compared to collections in 2022-23.
The income of Rs 11.14 crore in March was also the highest single-month collection made ever by the temple.
Talking to TOI, temple’s chief executive officer Vishwa Bhushan said, “Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust (SKVTT) has recorded its highest ever collection as well as expenditure in the 2023-24 financial year. On the income part, its gross earning was Rs 83.34 crore, which was 42.43% more than the gross earnings of 2022-23. The expenditure was Rs 25.32 crore which was 40.38% more than the figures of the previous financial year.”
All previous records of income were broken by Feb-end when Rs 69.92 crore was received by the temple even when the value of precious metals received as donation was not included in it. In 2022-23, the temple had recorded income of Rs 58.51 crore while it was over Rs 26 crore in 2018-19 and 2019-20 financial years.
