In an exclusive conversation with ANI, Prem Sagar said,Manoj MuntashirHave good knowledge about Hindutva. I don’t understand how he imagined such dialogues in the film. It may be a misconception that the younger generation will like it. But you can’t do that with the audience. Don’t say it is based on Valmiki Ramayana, give it any other name. Make it a ‘fictional’ film. But if you are making Ramayana, you cannot hurt sentiments. People look at it with reverence.”
The film, which is a dramatic retelling of Ramayana, faced backlash on social media for its poor VFX and controversial dialogues including ‘marega bete’, ‘bua ka bagicha hain kya’ and ‘jalegi tere baap ki’.
“I have seen clips of the film and had a lot of interactions with people like Sunil Lehri (who played Lakshman in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayan’), so there is some problem. I don’t even want to watch the film. Raavan was very knowledgeable. And you are blackening Sone ki Lanka (Golden Lanka), and his eyes are 5 heads up and 5 heads down,” he added.
In view of such criticisms, the makers of ‘Adipurush’ have decided to revamp the dialogues.
“The makers are re-thinking the said dialogues, ensuring to resonate with the core essence of the film and it will hit the theaters in the next few days. The decision is a testament that despite the unbeatable collection at the box office, the team is committed and nothing is beyond the sentiments of their audience and the goodwill at large,” read a statement released by T-Series.
Prem Sagar further told ANI, “But I am very happy that he has realized his mistake and realization itself is a big thing.
