'Don't Want Regulation': ChatGPT Creator on OpenAI Amid Concerns

New Delhi:

OpenAI is against regulating small startups in the field of artificial intelligence, Sam Altman, CEO of the firm behind ChatGPT, said at a conference in New Delhi, India.

Speaking at an event organized by national daily Economic Times, he said, “We have clearly said that there should be no regulation on small companies. The only regulation we have sought is on us and the big ones.”

Mr. Altman has traveled around the world, meeting with heads of state in many countries.

OpenAI has so far raised $10 billion from Microsoft at a valuation of around $30 billion as it invests in building computing capability.
