Doraha Police Books Person for Falsely Claiming Death Threats for Police Protection | Ludhiana News – Times of India

LUDHIANA: Doraha police has booked a person for claiming to get death threats for getting police protection. The accused was identified as Karanveer Singh Karan of Kado village in Doraha.
Police officials said that police had got a complaint from Karanveer Singh wherein he mentioned that he is getting death threat from a whatsapp Number +1(315)6833445. They added that Lovepreet Singh of village Ghudani Kalan in Payal area runs that number.
Cops said that during investigation it came to fore that the accused, who was exercising with Lovepreet Singh asked him to threaten to kill him himself or any other person, so that he could get the gunman from the police department.
Police officials said that nothing has come to light regarding the death threat of the accused. They added that the Karanveer has given a false statement in the application with the intention of obtaining police protection.
Doraha police booked the accused under sections 182 (False information, with intent to cause public servant to use his lawful power to the injury of another person), 211 (False charge of offence made with intent to injure) of IPC. DSP Payal Nikhil Garg said that the accused is yet to be arrested but will be arrested soon
