NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India appointed Sanjay Mukherjee as the new director general of police (DGP) of West Bengal on Tuesday. Sanjay is a 1989 batch IPS officer.
Earlier, Vivek Sahay replaced Rajeev Kumar as the DGP of Bengal, but later the EC decided to appoint Mukherjee.
