ED wants AAP’s Lok Sabha poll strategy details from Arvind Kejriwal’s phone: Delhi minister Atishi | Delhi News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate has been accused by senior AAP leader Atishi of using its power as a political tool for the BJP. Atishi alleged that the ED is seeking access to Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal‘s phone to gather information on AAP’s Lok Sabha election strategy.
Kejriwal, the national convener of AAP, was taken into custody by the ED on March 21 in connection with a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy.
At a press conference, Atishi stated that the ED’s insistence on examining Kejriwal’s phone, which was not in use when the policy was introduced, indicates a political motive. She pointed out that the BJP is actually interested in the contents of Kejriwal’s phone, not the ED.
The AAP leader highlighted that the current phone used by Kejriwal is relatively new compared to when the excise policy was enforced in 2021-22.
The ED has said that Kejriwal’s phone of that period is not available, and now, it wants the password of his new phone, Atishi said.
“They want it because they will find in it details of AAP’s Lok Sabha poll strategy, campaign plans, talks with INDIA bloc leaders and information regarding media and social media strategy,” she added.
Allegations of corruption led to the cancellation of the policy, which prompted several opposition parties, including AAP, TMC, Congress, DMK, and SP, to unite against the BJP in the upcoming elections.
