Eight injured in hostel building fire in Kota | Jaipur News – Times of India

KOTA: A fire broke out in a boys’ hostel in Kota, Rajasthan, injuring eight students. The incident occurred at Landmark City in Kunhari police station area early on Sunday morning.
Police reported that a short circuit in an electric transformer on the ground floor caused the blaze. The forensic team is investigating the exact cause.
Six students with burns are receiving treatment at MBS Hospital, while two others, one with a leg fracture from jumping, are in a private hospital.
Fire officer at Kota Municipal Corporation Rakesh Vyas said the hostel building was not equipped with fire safety measures and did not have fire NOC and, more alarmingly, the transformer in the hostel was installed inside hostel building at ground floor near the stairs.
