Thiruvananthapuram: The body of an 84-year-old man was found in the Akathumuri Lake on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Karunakaran, a retired schoolteacher from Vettoor near Varkala.
Anchuthengu police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
According to the police, the body was found floating on the lake near Vakkom around 12.30pm by people in the locality.A man missing was registered at the police station four days ago after Karunakaran went missing from his relative’s house near Akathumuri.
The police said he had some memory issues, and he might have jumped into the lake or fell into it by accident. He was unmarried. The body has been handed over to the relatives after a postmortem examination, the police said. tnn
