New Delhi: In an effort to combat large-scale data scraping and system manipulation, Twitter has announced the imposition of a temporary limit on daily reading of posts, effectively curbing user activity.
Simply put, these limits will put a limit on the number of posts users can read on the platform.

Verified accounts will now have a maximum daily reading limit of 6000 posts. The move aims to strike a balance between providing access to information and protection from potential misuse.
On the other hand, unverified accounts will face a lower limit, allowing them to read 600 posts per day. The measure is intended to reduce excessive activity by unverified users and preserve the integrity of the Platform.
Furthermore, new unverified accounts will face stricter restrictions with a maximum limit of 300 posts per day. The purpose of this limit is to ensure a controlled onboarding process for new users, thereby reducing the risk of abuse right from the start. These temporary limits come as part of Twitter’s ongoing efforts to address concerns over data scraping and system manipulation, unauthorized collection of user data and manipulation of online discourse.
To address extreme levels of data scraping and system manipulation, we have implemented the following temporary limits:
– Verified accounts are limited to reading 6000 posts per day
– Unverified accounts up to 600 posts per day
– 300 new unverified accounts per day – Elon Musk (@elonmusk) 1 July 2023
By implementing these measures, Twitter aims to create a more secure environment for its users, promoting transparency and fairness in online interactions. As the fight against data scraping and system manipulation continues, Twitter’s latest move underscores its commitment to protecting user privacy and preserving the integrity of its platform.
