Ensure Basic Amenities Are Provided At Tribal Settlements, Says Zp Ceo | Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysuru: ZP CEO KM Gayathri has instructed the officials to ensure basic amenities like drinking water, schools and health facilities were provided at tribal settlements. Gayathri, who noticed lacunae during her visits to Bilikere, Chilkunda and Neralakuppe in Hunsur taluk, on Wednesday, told officials to attend to pending issues at the earliest.
‘Conduct health checkups at regular intervals’
During her visit to Neralakuppe, which is home to a majority of tribal settlements, she instructed the officials to provide a drinking water facility under the Jal Jeevan Mission and also to ensure the residents were subjected to health checkups at regular intervals. She also took the officials to task for not utilizing the funds released for the construction of village panchayat and library buildings. Before her visit to Neralakuppe, Gayathri visited Bilikere and Chilkunda village panchayats and inspected lake work being taken up under the MGNREGA. She also urged the women of the village to work under the MGNREGA programme instead of travelling to different locations in search of jobs.
Gayathri also instructed the PDO to initiate measures for solid waste management without causing harm to the environment and also take the villagers into confidence apart from noting the demand for individual toilets at village panchayats. Later, she also advised the members of Sanjeevani Self-Help Group to come forward to sell the products of tribal women to strengthen them financially.
She also added that a meeting will be held with the forest officials to ensure the collection of forest produce by the tribal women. On the occasion, Gayathri also visited tailoring and fancy stores.
Gayathri visited the Koosina Mane (childcare) training centre and addressed the trainees. During her talk, she informed the trainees about Koosina Mane, a childcare centre for kids, which is being started at village panchayats to help working women.
A total of 17 Koosina Mane is being opened at 17 village panchayats in Hunsur taluk. Gayathri said the initiative would help in taking care of children belonging to women labourers and added that the caretakers must be committed and develop patience to look after the children.
