Ensure Waste Recovery Stations Work at Full Capacity – MCG Officials | Gurgaon News – Times of India

Gurgaon: MCG additional commissioner Balpreet Singh on Friday directed officials to ensure that material recovery facilities operate at their full capacity. The directions were given during his visit to the facilities and composting plant on Friday.
He also said decentralised waste processing will ensure less quantity of garbage going to the landfill.
The facilities at Beri Bagh and Sector 44 — that Singh visited — have not been running at their full capacity since the secondary waste collection services were disrupted after Ecogreen was served a notice.
“The recovery facilities should operate at their full capacity. Recyclable waste should be sent for recycling and the wet waste should be sent for composting,” he said.
There are material recovery facilities at Beri Bagh, Badshahpur, Sector 44, Darbaripur and Carterpuri for fresh waste processing.
Singh also visited the secondary waste collection point in Khandsa and directed the sanitation department officials to ensure that the waste is lifted regularly.
He said that the sanitation agencies or workers who don’t work effectively will face action.
