Raashii Khanna gives fans who have been waiting for an update on Farzi season 2 a much needed update.
Raj & DK’s dark comedy crime thriller series Farzi on currency note counterfeiting was released in 2022 and became an instant success. It went on to win rave reviews with a lot of appreciation coming in for its lead actors Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi. It was the first time that the duo was seen sharing screen space. Farzi also starred Raashii Khanna, who played an RBI analyst with expertise in detecting counterfeit notes.
Farzi managed to give rise to conversations on social media and garnered many accolades for its novelty. Needless to say, audiences are now looking forward to a sequel to the series. A while back, Shahid during an interaction session with fans on social media responded to a query on the release of Farzi 2 and said, “ART banana mein time lagta hai kachra jaldi ban jata hai.”
But now, it seems like the wait is over. There’s finally some clarity on the highly anticipated sequel. In an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Raashii spills the beans on the same. “Farzi 2 will start at the beginning of next year,” she states.
The delay in the shoot may be attributed to Raj & DK’s chock-o-block schedules as they have multiple other projects in the pipeline. “Raj sir and DK sir have a lot on their plate right now. They have Citadel Honey Bunny coming up and then there’s The Family Man 3. After that, they will probably move to Farzi 2. According to the information I have, the shoot will start in 2025,” Raashii tells us.
The Yodha actor goes on to praise her co-stars in Farzi and adds that she took away a lot from both Shahid and Vijay. “He (Vijay) is who he is and he doesn’t pretend to be anything but himself. I love that about him. As for Shahid, I love his versatility as an actor,” remarks Raashii.
Earlier this month, Shahid during a masterclass stated that Farzi 2 is definitely in the pipeline but that there’s uncertainty on when shoot will begin. “Farzi 2 will happen, and if anything else I like, I will, but as of now, I haven’t said yes to anything for OTT because I had two releases this year, so I’m going to do some stuff for theatres now. But Farzi 2 will definitely happen,” he had said.
