FIR lodged day after godown fire at Goregaon | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: A day after a fire broke out at a godown in Goregaon West and left one person injured, the BMC lodged a police complaint on Thursday. Police confirmed that an FIR had been lodged under sections 336 and 337 of IPC for ‘a rash or negligent act to endanger human life.’
The fire was reported at Azmi Industrial Estate on Wednesday and left a 25-year-old man, Nasim Khan, injured.
Around 8 pm on Wednesday, the fire control room had received a call about the blaze. The fire spread through scrap material in the shops on the ground floor.
“The fire was confined to coal tar, glue, chemicals, scrap material, plywood, electric wiring, electric installation, GI sheet shed, bamboo scaffolding, spilled chemicals etc., in two units on the ground floor of the chawl structure,” an officer had said.
Traffic movement on the Mrinaltai Gore flyover had to be shut down as a result of the fire. It could be brought under control at 9 pm.
