Kaur was suspended by the Congress in February last year soon after her husband, former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh, joined the BJP
Lok Sabha MP and former Congress leader Preneet Kaur joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Thursday. A four-time MP and a former Union minister, Kaur joined the saffron party in the presence of senior leaders at the BJP headquarters here.

Kaur was suspended by the Congress in February last year soon after her husband, former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh, joined the BJP. Kaur continues to be a Lok Sabha MP from Patiala.
“I am joining BJP today. I am feeling happy. For the last 25 years, I have worked in Lok Sabha and Assembly for Punjab and the country. I want to thank our PM Narendra Modi, party president JP Nadda, and the entire team” says Preneet Kaur after joining BJP.
