KANNAUJ(UP): A former Head of VillageThe husband of the current chief was shot dead by the son of Jalalpur Amra Village of Kannauj Sadar Kotwali Police said on Sunday that a situation of tension has arisen in the area. Police said heavy Police Force Police have been deployed in the village to prevent any untoward incident.
He said two people have been arrested after the encounter with the police. Deepu RajputThe son of village head Ramshree is absconding.
Sadar Kotwali SHO Ajay Awasthi said, “Rajput along with his accomplices attacked the house of former village head Shivdevi on Saturday night. They shot Shivdevi’s husband Ramdas.”
Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh said that Ramdas (45) had a political enmity with Rajput.
A case of murder has been registered against six people in the matter, he said.
SHO Awasthi told that after the murder, a search operation was conducted in Ganga’s Katari at around 3 am on Sunday, where the accused opened fire on the police.
The police retaliated and two accused Mukesh and Rakesh were arrested.
The SP said that action would be taken against all the accused under the Gangster Act and the stringent National Security Act.
