After the formation of Siddaramaiah’s government in Karnataka, the Congress is busy in fulfilling its promises. Free bus service for women ‘Shakti Yojana’ was launched on June 11. During the launch of the scheme, MLA Rupkala herself drove the bus with women seated. During this, he mistakenly engaged the back gear. The bus rammed into the vehicles parked in the rear parking lot. The bus driver, who was standing nearby, immediately took over the steering and took control of the situation.

The Congress had made five promises in the assembly elections. Apart from free bus service, he promised 200 units of free electricity every month under Griha Jyoti Yojana, Rs 3000 every month to unemployed graduates under Yuva Nidhi Scheme, 10 kg free rice to BPL families under Anna Bhagya Yojana.
