Harman Baweja opens up about what happened soon after his debut film Love Story 2050 hit the theatres.

Actor Harman Baweja, who has been receiving rave reviews for his latest release on OTT, made his Bollywood debut with the 2008 film Love Story 2050, but decided to quit the industry after the disappointment of his 2014 film Dishkiyaoon. The actor who was initially launched by his father Harry Baweja, in a recent interview recalled what happened after the film’s release.

Speaking with Film Companion, the actor shared that his family went on a vacation just a day after Love Story 2050 hit the theatres. He said, “The day after it was released, the four of us went on a holiday that wasn’t really a holiday. It was the four of us sitting in different corners, thinking: What went wrong?

While the film was unsuccessful, the actor later signed several other projects like What’s Your Raashi and Victory, which also failed at the box office, “”I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Do I need this? I just want to rest.’ I was never dying to get into acting. I just enjoyed it,” he said.

Harman was rumored to be in a relationship with Priyanka Chopra in the mid-2000s. The pair reportedly started dating while they were working together on their film Love Story 2050.

“I feel the media was absolutely unfair to me. When I did my first few films, harsh and nasty things were written (about me). It’s part and parcel of the business, but when it becomes too personal So it hurts. There were times when I used to make sure the papers didn’t come home, or my mother didn’t see them,” the actor told Mid-Day

Harman admitted that his career didn’t go according to plan, due to which he had to quit. He said, “Today the same family which avoided reading the newspaper is now waiting for the next article on me.” The actor has finally found success with Hansal Mehta’s new Netflix series Scoop. He is receiving praise from both the audience and critics for his role as JCP Harshvardhan Shroff.

The series is based on the real-life story featured in journalist Jigna Vora’s book Behind the Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison. In the series, Karishma Tanna plays the character of an aspiring crime journalist who is accused of murder.
