‘Get your hopes up’: MKBHD reviews the Pixel tablet

Popular youtuber mkbhd has a review pixel tablet on his youtube channel. MKBHD or Marques Brownlee is a popular name among tech enthusiasts. The popular tech critic has asked Android tablet fans to ‘get over their expectations’ about the new tablet, claiming it is ‘nothing amazing or super premium’.

In a 13-minute video posted to his YouTube channel, Brownlee explained that the Pixel tablet is interesting and a little understated in terms of how important it could be to other Android tablets on the market.

pixel 7 It was announced at the Google I/O 2023 event last month with a price tag of around $499. 43,000. The tablet is powered by the Tensor G2 processor which also powers the Pixel 7 series. It comes with a 10.95-inch LCD display with a resolution of 2560×1600 and a density of 276 pixels per inch.

Brownlee was particularly impressed with the look of the Pixel tablet, saying, “I really like the soft touch finish on the back. It is porcelain color and it hides fingerprints very well, feels solid in the hand. It’s actually made of metal but you honestly can’t tell just by holding it because of the coating.”

The YouTuber was also impressed with some of the new software features Google has brought to its latest tablet. In particular, Brownlee was impressed by the new software dock, which is placed at the bottom of the screen, and the muti-tasking features.

However, Brownlee was not impressed with the Pixel Tablet’s display and performance. “The display doesn’t get particularly bright and it (the Pixel tablet) isn’t the fastest thing in the world,” he added.

The YouTuber said, “I can’t call this tablet fast. Not sure if it’s underclocked or what’s going on here, but it behaves like a basic midrange Android tablet”

Brownlee wasn’t particularly impressed with the Pixel tablet’s app optimization. He noted that while Google’s own apps take full advantage of the tablet’s larger screen, other third-party apps such as Instagram, Twitter and Tik Tok are not yet fully optimized.

The popular YouTuber also highlighted the “biggest weakness” of Android tablets. He added that while developers are incentivized to build apps for the iPad because the app runs on all iPads, the same is not true for all Android tablets.
