Give reasons to 11 districts for poor performance in JAC exam. Ranchi News – Times of India

Ranchi: The government has sent show-cause notices to 11 district-level education officers for the poor performance of students in their respective jurisdictions during the recently announced Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) matriculation and intermediate (science) exam results.
The 11 districts that have been served the notice include West Singhbhum, Simdega, Lohardaga, Khunti, Latehar, Deoghar, Pakur, Gumla, Jamtara, Sahibganj and Dumka. The notice has also asked the education officials to review the results and suggest focus areas for improvement in the next exam.
Affirming that he has been appointed as Secretary Ravi KumarEducation officials said they would focus more on regular examinations, hold meetings with school authorities and take note of students’ attendance from the current academic session.
The letter states, “Based on the district’s performance in the published matriculation and intermediate examination results, it was determined that the district’s performance was not impressive. District Education Officers, District Superintendents of Education, Sub-Divisional Education Officers, Area Education Officers and Block The education officers are responsible for the development, upgradation and promotion of education in the concerned district, but none of them have discharged their responsibility in a meaningful and accountable manner.
The District Education Officers have been directed to give an explanation on the dismal display of results through the Deputy Commissioners.
Speaking to TOI, Sahebganj’s DSE DN Jha said, ‘It is our responsibility to ensure that the district performs well in the results and we have been asked to develop a strategy to improve the performance. Therefore, schools would be advised to conduct weekly tests to determine whether students have mastered the teachings and concepts. Schools will also be instructed to hold regular meetings with parents. In addition, we will hold regular meetings with the schools to discuss the performance of the students and identify areas of weakness.
