Gold-plated main spire of Ram temple to be ready by Dec | Kolkata News – Times of India

AYODHYA: A target has been set to construct the main spire and another spire of the Ram temple in Ayodhya by Dec.
The main spire of the temple is being built 161 feet high. A layer of gold will be plated on it. There will be a total of five peaks in the Ram temple. Of these, three peaks were prepared before the consecration ceremony, said Ram temple trustee Anil Mishra.
The ‘parkota’ will also be ready before monsoon.With its construction, devotees will get relief from rain and sun, said Mishra.
He said that a meeting of the temple construction committee was held recently, and it has been decided to complete all the construction in the Ramjanmabhoomi complex by the end of this year. Temples of six devis and devtas will be built along the parkota and temples of seven sages will also be constructed in the premises of Ramjanmabhoomi, he said.
“L&T, the company that is constructing the temple, will field an army of workers. Currently, 1,500 workers, who are from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, are engaged in the construction works. More than 3,500 more workers are to be deployed soon,” he said. Temples of Hindu saints, including Valmiki, Vashishtha, Vishwamitra and Agastya, along with Nishadraj and Ahilya are also to be built, he said.
The sanctum sanctorum is on the ground floor of Ram temple. The court of Shri Ram will be installed on the first floor and after having the darshan of Ram Lalla, devotees will be able to climb the stairs and have the darshan of Ram’s court, said Mishra.
Apart from this, the road from Tedhi Bazaar at the western end of Ramjanmabhoomi complex to post office via Ashrafi Bhawan and Vibhishan Kund will be widened by 15 mt. The measuring process of the roads has been started. This road is being widened in view of the increasing crowd of devotees, said Ayodhya district magistrate Nitish Kumar.
Over 75 lakh devotees have visited the Ram temple since the consecration ceremony.
