Google launches its first foldable phone: Details about features, price and more

Google finally unveiled its first foldable phone at its annual I/O developer conference. Dubbed Google Pixel Fold, the handset features a foldable form factor as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series. The price of Google’s foldable phone is $ 1,799. It has been introduced in two color variants – Black and White. Google is giving freebies on the purchase of Pixel Watch pixel fold,

The smartphone will be available in select countries for now. There is no information about the India launch of the phone yet.

Google Pixel Fold: Features

Powering the Google Pixel Fold is Google’s Tensor G2 chipset that also fuels the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and now pixel 7a, When folded, the phone features 5.79-inch with a wide aspect ratio. On unfolding the device, users will find a large 7.69-inch display with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Pixel Fold is claimed to be the thinnest foldable phone in the market.

The handset packs 12GB of RAM and will be offered in two storage options – 256GB and 512GB. Although Google hasn’t revealed the operating system on the Pixel Fold, it is likely that the phone will run on Android 13.

Talking about the camera of Pixel Fold, there is a triple camera setup on the rear of the phone. The system houses a 48MP wide angle camera paired with a 10.8MP ultra wide angle camera and a 10.8MP telephotos camera.

On the front, there’s an 8.3MP camera on the cover display for selfies and video calls. For power, the Pixel Fold relies on a 4,800mAh battery. It has a USB Type-C port for charging and also supports wireless charging.

Google claims that the Pixel Fold comes with the most durable hinge in a foldable phone. It has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on its exterior and also has an IPX8 water-resistant design.
