Technology giant Google recently organized its Google for India event where the company made new announcements in the field of AI and others. At the event, Google also announced that it is working on ways to recognize and understand handwritten prescriptions by doctors.
“We have started working on the complex process of identifying what is written on a medical prescription by building an assistive model for medical healthcare professionals to digitize it using AI,” the company said in a statement. “
The feature is currently a research prototype and is not yet ready for the public. performed by a Google Executive during the event, once rolled out, users will be able to either take pictures of the prescription or upload it from their photo library. After this the image will be processed and the medicines mentioned in the prescription will be told.
“It will act as an assistive technology for the digitization of handwritten medical documents by increasing people like pharmacists in the loop, however no decision will be taken based on the output provided by this technology,” the company said in a statement.
At the event, Google has announced that it also plans to introduce a multi search feature to search. It will allow users to take pictures or screenshots and enter text in their query for easy search. Google announced that this feature will be available in several Indian languages such as Hindi, Punjabi and other languages. The company also announced new search features at the Google for India event in New Delhi. Now, users will be able to watch specific moments within YouTube videos and it is currently being tested with the beta version.
The technology company will now allow users to watch a specific place, thing or moment within a YouTube video. This will help the users to save some time as they can quickly find the things they were looking for. As of now, the feature is in the testing phase and is expected to roll out to everyone soon.
