Gujarat assembly elections: Kejriwal said, will make Surat a garment hub, promised to give concessions to traders

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday told textile traders in Surat that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) would make the city the country’s “garment hub” with an export-oriented integrated textile park and the creation of thousands of jobs.

Interacting with textile traders in the city as part of campaigning for next month’s Gujarat Assembly polls, the AAP government will bring a special law if voted to power to prevent cases of fraud in dues payments .

Asserting his party would remove “raid raj and fear”, he said, “You will make Surat the textile hub of not only Gujarat but of the entire country. A new integrated textile park will be built which will be fully export-oriented. You will ” Get tax breaks, incentives and other perks.”

“Textile units will get infrastructure and electricity tariffs will be reduced. The AAP government will provide all facilities for creating thousands of jobs and higher exports. We will stop the raid raj and harassment of tax inspectors,” Kejriwal said.

He added that traders work 24/7 to provide for their families by paying taxes, donating to charity and supporting the society, adding AAP will remove fear and give respect to the community.

Promising to stop frauds in payment of dues, Kejriwal said, “This payment problem is not of Surat or Gujarat alone but of the entire country.” We will bring a new law for this with the people of Surat which will show a new path to the country.” He also promised MSME benefits to traders and easy loans with increased limits from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 1 crore.

“The Goods and Services Tax rates have caused a lot of trouble. We will take up this issue with the Centre. To implement this, we will create a single window system to ease difficulties and remove corruption.

Gujarat will go to polls on December 1 and 5, while the counting of votes will take place on December 8.
