Vadodara: Crime Branch (DCB) team nabbed notorious criminal Alpesh Wadhwani alias Alpu Sindhi seven months after he went missing. arrested on Thursday from Gurgaon Tip-off basis. Sindhi has been combined into one rape case Two years ago, a girl lodged a case against the chartered accountant at the Gotri police station.
The girl recently retracted her statement in the court and said that the two accused did not rape her. Police can interrogate Sindhi about the matter. Sindhi was released on parole for 10 days in October last year. He was again accused of extorting money, following which a case was registered against him.
Sindhi then fled the city and was on the run since then. The police eventually tracked him down. He has been sent to judicial custody.
In March last year, a case was registered against his wife for submitting a fake death certificate to get bail for Sindhi’s sister. Investigation revealed that he had no sister.
Sindhi has more than 50 cases registered against him, including extortion, attempt to murder, assault, violating jail rules and trying to break out of jail using forged documents.
