Hate speech: Mukhtar Ansari’s younger son Umar surrenders in Mau, released | Varanasi News – Times of India

VARANASI: Jailed mafia don Mukhtar Ansari‘s younger son Umar Ansari surrendered before the additional chief judicial magistrate (MP-MLA) Shweta Chaudhary in UP’s Mau district on Wednesday in the cases of hate speech and model code of conduct violation during assembly polls in 2022.
The MP-MLA court granted bail to Umar in view of the anticipatory bail granted to him by the Allahabad high court on November 3, said his advocate Liyaqat Ali, adding, NBWs in other three cases were recalled and the court also granted bail to him in those all offences in cases against Umar were bailable and NBW was issued for non-appearance before the court.
Reacting over granting bail to him while coming out of court Umar wished people for the forthcoming festivals of Dhanteras, Diwali and Chhath before mentioning that he has full confidence on judiciary.
However, despite repeated questioning by reporters about the actions being faced by his father and other family members in the regime of chief minister Yogi Adityanath he preferred to be tight-lipped.
Umar is co-accused in hate speech case with his jailed brother and MLA from Mau Sadar assembly seat Abbas Ansari.
While contesting 2022 assembly polls from Mau Sadar seat as SP-SBSP alliance candidate Abbas had allegedly threatened officials from a public meeting dais in Paharpur area on March 3, 2022 night by stating,
“After the formation of the SP-led government, the officials would have to give ‘hisab-kitab’ (account) of their work of the past regime before getting transferred.”
After the video clips of this speech of Abbas went viral in social media initially the Mau police on March 4 had booked Abbas, Umar and his election agent Mansoor.
Apart from this case, NBW had also been issued by court against Umar in two other cases lodged with Kotwali police station and one with Dakshintola in 2022.
