Satyendar Jain was arrested on May 30 last year in a money laundering case.
Former Delhi government minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Satyendar Jain had sought transfer of the trial of the ED and CBI case from the court of Special CBI Judge Vikas Dhal to another court. The petition will be heard on June 9 in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court.
On this petition of Jain, Rouse Avenue Court had sought response from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).
Jain was arrested on May 30 last year in a money laundering case. Since then he is in jail. He is accused of creating shell companies and transferring an amount of more than Rs 16 crore through it. His wife Poonam and others are also accused in the case.
Judges who have been changed before
Satyendar Jain has already filed a petition to change the judge of his case. Then Special Judge Gitanjali Goyal was hearing his case. Jain’s petition was heard in September 2022. Then his case was given to Judge Vikas Dhall.
Got 6 weeks bail to get treatment
Satyendar Jain had fainted and collapsed in the washroom of Tihar Jail on 25 May. After this he was admitted to the ICU of LNJP Hospital for treatment.
Satyendar Jain was granted bail for 42 days (6 weeks) by the Supreme Court on May 26, 360 days after his arrest. The court gave him interim relief till July 11 to get the treatment done. He will have to appear in court again on July 10. During the hearing, the court had said – looking at Jain’s health, he should be released. During this he will not go out of Delhi.
The Supreme Court said- We allow Satyendar Jain to get treated in a private hospital. Jain will not influence any witness. He will not go out of Delhi without the permission of the court. Whatever treatment is being done during bail, its documents should be presented before the court. Read full news…
