Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu met Union Energy Minister RK Singh in New Delhi. During this, he requested to issue instructions to release Himachal’s share of Rs 4500 crore in Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB).

The Chief Minister said that the Supreme Court has ordered the settlement of Himachal Pradesh’s share in BBMB. However, the state has not yet been given this amount. Punjab and Haryana have to give this amount to Himachal.

Himachal’s share in power project urged to be 15%
CM Sukhu urged to increase the state’s share from 12 to 15 percent in the power project started 25 years ago. The Chief Minister informed the Union Minister that about 12 thousand MW of hydro power potential of the state is yet to be harnessed. These projects play an important role in strengthening the economy of Himachal.

He also took up with the Union Minister the matter of Luhri Power Project being implemented by SJVNL (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam). In view of the viability of the project, urged for the consent of the Center to increase the share of the State. He said that the lease period of the Shanan project has expired. It will be taken over by the State Government for further execution.

Trust to set up green energy plant in Spiti region
The Union Minister assured to set up a green energy plant in the Spiti region of Himachal on the lines of Leh. He said that e-charging stations for electric vehicles would be set up in the state so that the goal of becoming a green power state by the year 2025 could be achieved.

Himachal is the only state to generate surplus electricity in the country: CM
Chief Minister Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh is the only energy surplus state in the country and work is also being done to produce green hydrogen in the state. Please tell that Chief Minister Sukhu is on Delhi tour for 2 days. On Wednesday too, he had met Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. Today he can also meet some other ministers.

JICA will cooperate in green hydrogen, tunnel, milk production: CM

Chief Minister Sukhu held a meeting with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Delhi today. During this, the Chief Minister said that JICA will provide budget for green hydrogen, tunnel, milk production and sewage disposal in Himachal. A meeting will be called soon in Shimla regarding this. The CM instructed JICA to prepare the DPR.

He also urged JICA to include tunnel construction in the state in its projects. He said that milk production is the third sector in which JICA can provide its cooperation and technology. With this, a positive change can be brought in the economy of the state and especially the farmers. He said that community sewerage and cleanliness is also one of the major priorities of the state government.
