Himachal Pradesh Budget 2024-25: Highlights from CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s Speech | Shimla News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is presenting the state budget today. To present his second budget, the chief minister arrived at the Vidhansabha in his old Alto car driving himself. Here are the highlights of the budget:-

  • Sukhu says that In the government schools of the state, children will be able to study English from class one. He said this will especially benefit the students of rural areas. Six thousand pre-primary teachers will be recruited in the coming financial year.
  • Centre of Excellece announced for Divyangs at Kadaghat in Solan district
  • CM Sukhu announces Mukhyamantri Sukh Arogya Yojana. Under this scheme, people above 70 years of age who do not pay income tax and do not take pension will get free medical facilities.
  • CM announes Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Yojana for the construction of houses for the workers of Valmiki community. Under this, financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh will be given to those employees of Valmiki Samaj, whose income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh and do not have their own house.
  • CM announces to increase the honorarium of panchayati raj and urban local bodies. Zilap Parishad chairman will get Rs 24000 per month while vice-chairman will get Rs 18000 and Zila Parishad member will get Rs 7800. Panchayat Samiti chairman will get Rs 11500, vice-chairman Rs 8400 and member Rs 7200.
  • Panchayat Pradhan will get Rs 7200, up-pradhan Rs 4800 and member Rs 750. Municipal Corporation Mayor Rs 24000, Deputy Mayor Rs 18000 and Councillor Rs 8300.
  • Municipal Council president Rs 10000, vice-president Rs 8400 and Councillor Rs 4200. Pradhan Municipal Committee Rs 8400, up-pradhan Rs 6600 and member Rs 4200.
  • In all the Municipal Corporations of Himachal, financial assistance will be provided to economically weaker persons, whose annual income is less than Rs 3 lakh, to build houses..
  • CM announces to bring New Mines and Mineral Policy 2024 to curb illegal mining in Himachal Pradesh.
  • CM says that state will request the Government of India to lay a railway line from Kalka to Parwanoo.
  • CM Sukhu said that a new industrial promotion policy will be brought in 2024. He also announced the new industrial startup policy.
  • A 3.2 km length ropeway will be constructed at Bijli Mahadev in Kullu. The government will conduct a survey to convert Kalka-Shimla and Jogindernagar railway line into broad gauge.
