Holi Brawl: Woman Beaten To Death In Pratapgarh | Allahabad News – Times of India

Prayagraj: A 40- year- old woman was beaten to death allegedly by her brother-in-law and the latter’s family members in Govindpur village under the limits of Lilapur police station of Pratapgarh district on Monday. The deceased was identified as Kalawati, resident of Govindpur. Police arrested two persons accused and sent the body for post mortem.
Lilapur police said families of two brothers were at loggerheads over playing a sound system full blast during Holi celebrations.The scene took an ugly turn when members of one family attacked the rival camp and thrashed the woman so severely that she died on the way to the hospital.
On the complaint of the deceased’s husband, Laxmikant, FIR under appropriate sections was lodged against elder brother Shivkailash, Sangeeta and Deepak, all residents of the same village.
Police arrested Shivkailash and his wife Sangeeta from their residence. Teams have been dispatched to ensure the arrest of Deepak.
