Starting a new end-to-end encrypted chat

  1. open the instagram app on your smartphone and go to dm section.
  2. tap on plus (+) icon Available in the upper right corner.
  3. tap on Start an end-to-end-encrypted chat alternative.
  4. select account You want to start a secure chat with them, or use the top search bar to look up their name.
  5. Beat talk button available at the top right.

Enable end-to-end encryption in existing chats

  1. open the instagram app on your smartphone.
  2. Go to the chat in which you want to enable end-to-end encryption.
  3. tap on Recipient NameAvailable at the top of the chat window.
  4. Then, scroll down and tap on use end-to-end encryption alternative.
  5. A new chat will be opened with end-to-end encryption.
