How to play games on YouTube – Times of India

YouTube has introduced a new feature called Playables, which allows YouTube Premium subscribers to play games on YouTube without having to download or install any games or separate apps. This feature is an experiment that allows users to play various games on the YouTube website or mobile app instantly. The games on the platform are easily shareable, and YouTube plans to introduce more games.
Here’s how you can play games on YouTube with Playables
Do note that you need a YouTube Premium subscription to play games.
Follow the steps below to enable Playables.

  1. Open the YouTube app on iOS and Android, then head to the ‘You’ tab. On the web, visit www.youtube.com, then click the profile picture on the top right corner.
  2. Now tap the ‘Settings’ icon on the top right corner, then tap ‘Try new features,’ or if you are on the web, click ‘Your Premium benefits.’Here, you will see the experimental features.
  3. Turn on the ‘Play games on YouTube.’

Once you have turned on the ‘Play games on YouTube’ option.

  • Tap the ‘explore’ icon on the top strip, scroll down, and tap ‘Playables,’ and all the available games will appear.
  • Click the hamburger icon on the top left to open the Explore menu, there, you will find the games under the ‘Playables’ option.

So far, there is no word on if and when the Playables will be made available to non-paying YouTube users. So, you will need to be subscribed to YouTube Premium to play games. The Playables experiment will be available until March 28.
