Google offers multiple battery related features for its Pixel devices. The tech giant added faster charging speed to its latest smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 2 which was launched in October 2023. Moreover, Pixel phones also include a Battery Share feature that can be used to charge accessories, like the Pixel Buds. The company was also rumored to add a Battery Health with its latest Android 14 operating system, but that didn’t happen.Also, it won’t be possible for the Pixel phone to charge other devices if it doesn’t have enough battery left. This is where the Pixel Battery Saver feature comes in.

This feature saves battery power by reducing background activities and visual effects. Users can also turn on Battery Saver with automatic notifications when their Pixel battery hits 20%. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use the Battery Saver feature on Pixel devices:

How to enable Battery Saver on Pixel phones

Google allows users to switch on the Battery Saver automatically whenever the battery hits a certain level. Here’s how to enable the feature:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap Battery, then Battery Saver, then Schedule and reminders.
  • Make sure that “Turn on based on battery level” is on, then slide the bar to the desired percentage.

On Pixel 3 or later devices, users can choose between Standard Battery Saver and Extreme Battery Saver by going to the Settings app and selecting either mode in Battery Saver. Extreme Battery saver saves even more battery, by pausing all non-essential apps. Use the settings icon next to Extreme Battery Saver users have to choose which apps they’d like to continue running when it’s on.

  • Swipe down.
