Dindigul: The Dindigul The district police on Saturday arrested a man for allegedly attacking his wife with a billhook in the premises of Palani Government Hospital.
Police said Mani and his wife Priyadarshini, a resident of VK Mills area near Palani, used to have frequent domestic disputes.
After being assaulted by her husband, Priyadarshini reached Palani GH on Saturday morning for treatment. However, while she is in the hospital, Mani suddenly confronts her and attempts to attack her. He chased her down and hacked her to death with a billhook.
Priyadarshini has received injuries on her hand and leg. He was admitted to GH.
Security personnel at the hospital safely rescued Mani and handed him over to the Palani Town police. The police have registered the case.
