Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched several development projects worth over Rs 5,500 crore in Rajasthan. PM Modi shared the stage with Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and addressed a public meeting in Nathdwara.

Ashok Gehlot was greeted with ‘Modi-Modi’ slogans at the Nathdwara rally and started speaking only after PM Modi intervened and asked the public to let the CM speak.

While addressing the rally, Gehlot welcomed PM Modi and said that Rajasthan, which was lagging behind Gujarat in terms of development, is now moving forward. “I welcome PM Modi. I am happy that the Prime Minister will inaugurate National Highway and Railway projects today.

Gehlot further said that he writes letters to PM Modi regarding the pending demands of the state and will continue to write further. I am happy to say that due to the good governance of our government, Rajasthan has reached the second position in the country in terms of economic development. I keep writing letters to you (PM Modi) regarding the pending demands of our state and will keep writing.

The Rajasthan CM asserted that there is no enmity in a democracy and there is no government without opposition. “There is no enmity in a democracy. This is a battle of ideology. There should be peace and harmony among the people in the country. Violence stops development. Gehlot said that there is no government without the opposition, so the opposition should be respected.

On the other hand, PM Modi said that some people are so full of negativity that they do not see anything good happening in the country. He said, “You must have heard some people saying ‘Come first or Giver first’, but history is witness that along with basic amenities, modern infrastructure is also necessary for rapid development.”

“If enough medical colleges had been built earlier, we would not have had to face the shortage of doctors, if every household had got water, we would not have had to start the Rs 3.5 lakh crore Jal Jeevan Mission. Negative people do not have far-sighted vision and cannot think beyond their political interests,” PM Modi further said.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the newly launched projects are aimed at strengthening infrastructure and connectivity in the region. The PMO said the work on the road and railways would give a boost to trade and commerce, thereby improving the socio-economic condition of the people of the area.
