Coimbatore/Namakkal: The income tax department searched a college and two hospitals in Coimbatore on Wednesday.
Income tax officials searched Muthu College of Allied Health Sciences at Madukkari and Dr Muthus Hospitals at Singanallur and Saravanampatti.
Dr Muthu Saravanakumar, the owner of the college and the hospitals, was interrogated for several hours.Officials seized several documents during the investigation.
In Namakkal, they searched the house of a bus company owner on Wednesday.
Officials searched the house of Thayar Chandrasekaran, 54, the proprietor of Shree Kumaran Bus Company, at Gandhi Nagar on Namakkal-Mohanur Main Road.
“I-T officials from Namakkal and Coimbatore searched the house after getting information that cash was being disbursed from his residence to a political party,” an official said. tnn
