IIT-K’s SIIC showcases India’s tech advancement | Kanpur News – Times of India

Kanpur: The Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), IIT-Kanpur collaborated with Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) to showcase its innovation capabilities at the World Congress-2023 of the World Business Angels Investment Forum (WBAF) in Durban, South Africa. The event witnessed prowess of five Indian start-ups incubated at SIIC, IIT Kanpur, highlighting India’s technological advancements on a global platform.
India emphasized its commitment to promote a supportive environment for startups with financial inclusion policies. CEO of SIIC, IIT-Kanpur, Nikhil said, “Our presence at WBAF 2023 is a golden opportunity to showcase the innovative solutions developed by Noccarc Technologies, Kritsnam Technologies, AgroNXT Services, Renergizr Industries, and Voltworks Technologies to a global audience.” At the event, SIDBI solidified its commitment to enhancing financial inclusion in India by signing MoU with WBAF.

Small Industries Development Bank of India (Sidbi) and National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) are set to back Sorin Investments, a tech-focused fund co-founded by former KKR India head Sanjay Nayar. The fresh investments will take the total corpus of the fund to about Rs 1,300 crore, ahead of its initial target. Nayar plans to back Indian managers and teams to build different thematic funds where India provides a large opportunity. The next fund will most likely be in the climate tech space. The investment of NSIC will be routed through Self Reliant India (SRI) Fund.
