IMD: Heavy rain alert in 10 districts till Tuesday: IMD | Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal by Sunday, which will increase the rain activities over the state till Tuesday. imd said on Saturday.
“Due to the system formed under the influence of the cyclonic circulation, it will rain at most places in the state for the next three-four days. There are also orange and yellow warnings for heavy to very heavy Rain at isolated places in some districts by Tuesday,” said HR Biswas, head of the regional IMD centre, here. He said fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea till Tuesday.
For Sunday, an orange warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall was issued for isolated places in 10 districts – SambalpurAngul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bargarh, Deogarh, Balangir, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Jharsuguda. An extremely heavy rain warning was also issued for three districts — Sambalpur, Sonepur and Boudh.
Besides, a yellow warning of heavy rain was issued for isolated places in 12 districts — Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangapur and Nuapada.
An official said that the office of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has issued an advisory to the district collectors to be alert in view of the heavy rain warning.
Sambalpur recorded maximum rainfall of 68 mm till 5.30 pm, while the city received 6.5 mm. The IMD report said Komna in Nuapada district recorded the highest rainfall of 132 mm in the last 24 hours till Saturday morning.
