In a recent interview with Vogue India, Imran shed light on his departure from Bollywood in 2015 following the release of Katti Batti. While many speculated that his decision stemmed from a series of unsuccessful films at the box office, the actor revealed that it was more about grappling with his personal struggles on an emotional level. Reflecting on that period, Imran shared that he simply lacked the motivation to invest the necessary time, energy, and effort required to sustain himself in the film industry.

He further explained that he couldn’t bring himself to socialize and attend parties solely to secure film offers. Imran expressed feeling internally wounded and emphasized the importance of addressing mental well-being, likening it to seeking therapy for a physical ailment like a pulled hamstring.

During the interview, he shared that he has been consistently attending therapy sessions four times a week for the past seven years, considering it a pivotal decision in his life. He likened his commitment to mental health to the discipline observed by individuals overcoming addiction or abstaining from alcohol, highlighting that it has been 2,500 days since he began his therapy on March 13, 2017.

Since 2015, the actor has been absent from Bollywood, and fans are eagerly anticipating Imran’s return to the industry. Despite actively reading scripts and working on his comeback, he remains steadfast in his stance of not succumbing to the pressures of the industry’s competitive atmosphere.
He shared that in his twenties, he gravitated towards roles depicting young men’s stories. However, he now veers away from those conventional roles and aims to portray characters that resonate truthfully with his current stage in life.
