Imran Khan to face indictment on May 10 in Toshakhana case – Times of India

Islamabad: An Islamabad court announced on Friday that it would frame charges against former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan On 10 May in a case in which he allegedly concealed income from the sale of state gifts.
Toshakhana case The case was filed against Khan last year after the Election Commission of Pakistan ruled that he failed to declare money received after selling gifts given to him by foreign dignitaries.

Khan, 70, has challenged the maintainability of the case but Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar of the sessions court dismissed the jurisdictional submissions and objections after hearing the arguments of the lawyers.
The judge announced the indictment of accused Khan and personally summoned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief on the day of indictment.
Earlier, the court had fixed February 7 as the date for indicting him, but the process was postponed several times due to Khan’s unavailability and pressure from his lawyers to decide the issue of maintainability of the case .
The case is based on the ECP’s decision of November 22 last year, which decided to prosecute Khan and later sent a reference to the court regarding gifts he had received from foreign dignitaries during his tenure as prime minister. I had misled the officers. ,
