Dog recovered from Ranjit Avenue.

A case has been registered against a famous doctor in Amritsar, Punjab for abusing animals. The team of Animal Welfare and Care Service Foundation (AWCSF) recovered two dogs from the house of Dr PS Bedi, a resident of Ranjit Avenue A-Block. One of whom had fainted, while the condition of the other was also critical.

Dr. Navneet, head of AWCSF organization living abroad, told that she was informed about this by her team. After which PFA team’s cruelty officer Shalini reached Ranjit Avenue Kothi.

From where it was learned that Dr. PS Bedi has gone to Canada for almost 6 months and has kept his two dogs (living in cold) locked in a room where there is neither fan nor cooler. Although in between the servants used to put something to eat.

The organization took the help of the police
Dr. PS Bedi was contacted regarding this. Within no time, a brother of Dr. PS Bedi got a call and he threatened not to get the dogs treated and to register a case of trespassing at home. After which the organization decided to take the help of the police.

By the time the dogs were recovered, they had worms and one had lost consciousness. They were not being given proper food and their condition was getting worse due to the heat. Dr. Navneet told that if they were not recovered even now, both would probably have died in a few days.

Case registered under Animal Cruelty Act
On the complaint of the organization, the police recovered both the dogs and got them medically done. On the basis of which the police of Ranjit Avenue police station has registered a case against Dr. PS Bedi under Section 428 of IPC 1860 and Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 11(1).

At the same time, now after recovering the dogs, they are being treated by the organization at its center. The condition of both the dogs remains critical.
