In case of alliance, party with majority of MLAs should get chief minister’s post: Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole | Nagpur News – Times of India

Nagpur: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (mpcc) President Nana Patole on Wednesday said his party was ready to contest the 2024 assembly elections independently “if forced to do so”, though the priority would always be to join hands with secular forces. On the post of CM, Patole said, ‘Whenever there is an alliance, the party with the maximum number of MLAs must get the post of CM. ,
Patole told TOI that seven public rallies by star Congress campaigners like Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi are being planned as part of the Lok Sabha election campaign.
Patole said, ‘Congress wants that all political parties that are anti-BJP should join hands and contest the elections. But as you saw in 2014 also, everyone went their own way, so we have to be ready for any situation. ,
In 2014, all the four major parties, Congress, NCP, BJP and the then united Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray contested the assembly elections independently.
Patole said the Congress has a plan ready for such scenarios. “We have Plan A, B, C and more. Our strategy has been decided but now I am not going to reveal anything. “Part of the contingency plan includes an aggressive election campaign. “There will be a total of seven public meetings in Maharashtra,” he said.
