In craze of going abroad, man who killed wife, two children held in Kurukshetra | Gurgaon News – Times of India

KURUKSHETRA: The police arrested the man in connection with a case of triple murder, who killed his wife and two children in a craze of going abroad to the United States (US).
Kurukshetra police spokesman Naresh Kumar said that the accused was identified as Rakesh Kumar of Shantinagar Kurdi in Jhansa area of the district.
Jhansa police station house officer (SHO) sub-inspector (SI) Pardeep Kumar said that accused Rakesh was crazy to go to the US and to collect money for expenses; he was forcing his wife Reena to bring the same from her parents and sell jewellery.
The SHO said that they received the information of the hanging by a man and triple murder in Shantinagar Kurdi area of Jhansa on December 7.
“I went to the spot and saw that a woman (Reena) and her two minor kids (Gursifat alias Jiya and Kriyans) were lying dead. A case of murder was registered. Accused Rakesh was arrested on Wednesday, after he was declared fit by the doctors, as he was undergoing treatment at Kalpana Chawla Medical College in Karnal after his failed attempt to hang himself subsequent to the murders of his wife and children”, said SHO Pardeep.
The SHO said during investigation, accused Rakesh confessed to committing these murders.
“Rakesh revealed that he had a craze of going abroad. He had also left his private job. He had asked his wife to arrange money for sending him abroad from her parents and by selling jewellery. Reena opposed and Rakesh developed a grudge against her. In a pre-planned manner, the accused murdered Reena and both his children. Accused attempted suicide by hanging from a ceiling fan but he was saved by neighbours by breaking the door”, said SHO Pardeep.
The SHO said the accused first strangulated his wife with her dupatta (ladies’ scarf), then he murder his one-year-old son followed by four-year-old daughter.
