‘Independence Week’: Unfurl the national flag at every house, UP CM asked

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the people of the state to hoist the national flag at their homes during “Independence Week” from August 11 to 17, to mark 75 years of India’s independence.

He said that under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” programme, 2.68 crore houses and 50 lakh government offices should have the tricolor.

The Chief Minister said that there is a need to connect people with “Har Ghar Tiranga” and “Selfie with Tiranga” programs should be organized for the youth.

He said that such selfies should be posted on social media on this occasion.

He said that the best performing districts would be rewarded.

Yogi Adityanath launched the “Jai Ghosh” community radio theme song and a poster of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” program of the state culture department.

He said copies of “Jhanda Uncha Rahe Hamara” song by Shyamlal Gupta of Kanpur should be made available to the common man.

The Chief Minister directed that a sapling and a national flag should be distributed to at least 75 farmers at each Krishi Vigyan Kendra.

He further said that a cleanliness drive should be carried out in every village and city during the “Independence Week” and parks should be decorated on the occasion.

PRD jawans will take out a cycle rally while the women’s group Mangal Dal will run a marathon. Various programs will also be organized in schools on this occasion. Police band will play national anthem at Shaheed Smarak.

The celebration of 75 years of India’s independence began on March 12, 2021 and so far 45 crore people have participated in 3500 events.

The Chief Minister said that special programs should be organized to mark the birth anniversary of freedom fighters Mangal Pandey and Chandrashekhar Azad on July 19 and 23, Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26 and the anniversary of Kakori Train Action on August 9.
