Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha expressed hope that the program of the 68-year-old Prime Minister’s visit to India would be finalized soon

India’s Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister Narayankaji Shrestha and the two leaders discussed the upcoming official visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to India, bilateral cooperation and border security issues.

Shrestha’s secretariat said Deputy Prime Minister Shrestha hoped that the schedule for the 68-year-old Prime Minister’s visit to India would be finalized soon, and expressed confidence that ties between the two countries would be further deepened during the tenure of the current government. During the meeting, Srivastava said that he was actively working to materialize the proposed visit of Prime Minister Prachanda to India.

Shrestha said there should be open dialogue between the two countries on sensitive issues like border management and tackling cross-border crimes.

He also expressed confidence that Nepal-India relations would further strengthen during the tenure of Prachanda-led coalition government.
