Intel India appoints Gokul Subramniam as President – Times of India

Intel has promoted Gokul Subramaniam to be the President of Intel India. He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s engineering and design operations in the country.
Gokul is a seasoned veteran at Intel, having worked there for 11 years. During his tenure, he has held several leadership positions in both technical and business roles, specifically in product and systems engineering. Gokul is based in Bengaluru and is currently serving as the general manager of Client Platforms and Systems within the Client Computing Group (CCG). Recently, he was appointed as the Intel India President, in addition to his already existing role of leading Client Platforms and Systems in CCG.
“As a critical engineering and design center for Intel, Intel India plays a vital role in our company’s transformation journey and the trajectory towards product leadership. I am excited about the engineering prowess we have at the site and the opportunities it brings to accelerate innovation and advance excellence in execution of our engineering programs,” said Gokul.
Gokul holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering from the University of Madras, a master’s degree in computer science and engineering from the University of Texas, and an executive program in general management from MIT Sloan School of Management. He has invented six patents and filed five more in the fields of computing, wireless, power management, industrial design, system, and software.
Santhosh Viswanathan, Vice President and Managing Director of Sales, Marketing, and Communications Group (SMG) for Intel India, will retain his role of overseeing Intel’s business in India and driving revenue and growth opportunities.
Intel India is the biggest engineering center outside the US for Intel, with advanced facilities in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. They have invested over $9 billion in India and are committed to expanding their R&D and innovation presence. Intel India plays an important role in Intel’s growth, contributing significantly to their technology and product leadership in areas such as AI and autonomous systems.
