Interior designer booked for cheating case in Mumbai | Mumbai News – Times of India

MUMBAI: A private company has lodged a cheating case against an interior designer who allegedly took the contract of interior designing of their office of Rs 1.15 crores and used inferior and below the standard quality.
Complainant company Fluidscape has lodged an FIR of cheating against interior designer Rakesh Sharma of RKS designing studios. The operational manager of the Fluidscape in his complaint alleged that in July last the company decided to open tender for carrying out the interior work of their office situated at Prabhadevi.
RKS studio’s director Sharma claimed that he had good experience and will do good job. “They held few meetings discussing the work profile and finally he quoted a price of Rs 1.15 crores of which he took Rs 32.82 lakhs as advance to start the work. In August, Sharma started his work but when the company officials visited the office on Sep 20 they notice the raw material used in the interior was not unto the standard as agreed between them, said an officer.
Later when they approached Sharma, he started evading and evasive replies and hence in order to assess the work, the company appointed a private auditor. The auditor gave a report that in the so far half work the material used in the interior was not more than 2 to 5 lakhs and this raised eyebrows and they decided to lodged a complaint of cheating.
